This case study explains how we took the well-known Data Management Body of Knowledge Wheel and turned it into the framework for our Enterprise Information Management team. After one year of using it we stepped back and did a maturity assessment and made adjustments to the details of the DMBOK wheel, "making it our own".

The DMBOK was effective for describing the many facets of information responsibilities as well as tasks needed to mature our organization. As a non-profit we need to be clever about affecting change and working with a limited budget. This presentation will:

  • Provide a quick review of the wedges of the DMBOK
  • Share the Maturity Assessment measures we developed
  • A workshop technique we used to engage our internal partners
  • Revisions we made – and using it for Staffing and annual goal setting
Attendees will go back to their environment with techniques to leverage this robust framework.
