Master Data Management (MDM) is recognized as an essential component of mature enterprise ecosystem. MDM related projects require unique IT and business skill sets. This presentation will outline the process of creating an effective blend of business and technical requirements assuring successful MDM projects. Based on the speaker’s practical experience, it will describe discovery homework, forming integrated working group, successful facilitation techniques and blending agile and waterfall methodologies. Also covered will be enterprise functions and organizations and their responsibilities. The attendees will learn how to conduct successful discovery, constructive facilitation techniques and the importance of “strawman” component. Also covered will be business analyst’s responsibility to address data aspect of the project and assure creation of quality tests cases by producing rich set of use cases.

An IT professional with over 30 years of experience at high-tech companies in Silicon Valley, Luda Shuster has worked as a developer, program manager, application architect and business systems analyst. For the past 11 years, she has served as a Master Data Management Analyst. Ms. Shuster has led and participated in multiple enterprise-wide projects that have enhanced MDM capabilities and integrated MDM with other enterprise systems. Her background includes work enhancing customer hub, implementing data quality tools, rolling out reference data, and implementing third-party enrichment. Ms. Shuster has spoken about MDM implementations at Oracle Open World (2010), Enterprise Data World (2015), and MDM & Data Governance Summit San Francisco (2015). She received her MA degree from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
